Ryan Phillippe and Amanda Seyfried 'call an end to on-off romance'

Amanda Seyfried and Ryan Phillippe have split for good after just seven months together, it has been claimed.

The genetically blessed couple, who parted briefly in February, have both decided that it's time to end their relationship for good according to US Weekly.

'It was mutual,' a source told the magazine. 'They were never fully committed.'

The unnamed insider also told the publication that Philippe, 36 , and the 25-year-old Red Riding Hood star were 'always on and off.'

'They were also seeing other people,' the source insisted.

However, Seyfried decided to stand by Phillippe in March when it was revealed that he had fathered ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp's baby.

The child is due this month, which perhaps suggests that Seyfried's loyalty was always strained by the impending arrival of a third child for the actor.

Phillippe already has 11-year-old Ava and Deacon, seven, with ex-wife Reese Witherspoon, 36.

Seyfried enjoyed a romantic weekend break with Phillippe on the same late March weekend that his ex-wife married William Morris agent Jim Toth, just a few miles away from the Ojai ceremony.

They holed up in Santa Barbara, a short drive from the wedding at Reese's ranch which prompted some observers to suggest the relationship was a response to Witherspoon's re-marriage.

But the couple's anonymous friend insists that: 'There's no bad blood. They're cool.'

Phillippe has also dated Australian actress Abbie Cornish, 28, while Seyfried split with British beau Dominic Cooper about a year ago, 32, following a three-year relationship.
