Dakota Johnson has signed with the A-list Hollywood agent who stepped down from her role on the board at Creative Artists Agency after sharing a post accusing Israel of genocide, DailyMail.com can reveal.

Maha Dakhil, 48, resigned from her role at the internal board of CAA after she shared the inflammatory post on her Instagram story, amid the Israel and Hamas conflict.

The post, which originally came from an account called 'FreePalestine', said 'you're learning who supports genocide', regarding Hamas' attack on October 7.

Dakhil has temporarily stepped back from her position as co-head of the motion picture department for the CAA, after apologizing for her actions.

But Johnson is the first A-Lister to be assigned to Dakhil, who is half-Libyan, since the scandal became public.

The actress signed with the agency in November, and CAA will rep her in all areas, including her TeaTime Pictures production company.

Johnson has remained silent regarding her personal views on the Israel and Hamas conflict, with Dakhil continuing to work with her other clients in the wake of the controversy.

She has worked with stars such as Tom Cruise, Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman, who is Jewish.

As well as reposting the criticism of Israel, Dakhil wrote: 'That's the line for me. What's more heartbreaking than witnessing genocide? Witnessing the denial that genocide is happening.'

Dakhil reportedly tried to organize a meeting with some of her Jewish colleagues to further explain and apologize, but several of the co-workers were so furious they refused to attend.

She deleted the messages shortly after posting them and apologized in a statement to Variety, saying: 'I made a mistake with a repost in my Instagram Story, which used hurtful language. Like so many of us, I have been reeling with heartbreak. I pride myself on being on the side of humanity and peace.

'I'm so grateful to Jewish friends and colleagues who pointed out the implications and further educated me. I immediately took the repost down. I'm sorry for the pain I have caused.'

But the posts had made their way around the Hollywood community, Variety reported, and many of her colleagues at CAA were reportedly 'offended and saddened'.

Dakhil addressed her comments on Instagram, writing: 'Choice of words is important. Dialogue is healing. As each excruciating day passes, I'm listening and learning more from my friends. Thank you.

'I'm holding all our families in my prayers … I am grieving for everyone who is suffering right now. I continue to mourn all innocent lives. My mission is peace.'

Variety reported that Tom Cruise met with Dakhil in the midst of the controversy and went to CAA in person to show his support for her.

Dakhil also works as an agent for Madonna, Anne Hathaway and Steven Spielberg, and signed former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama's production company Higher Ground.

CAA, arguably the most powerful agency in Hollywood, issued its own statement supporting Israel after the October 7 attacks.

The company said it 'stands with the people of Israel, the Jewish community, and all innocent victims in the face of horrific acts of terrorism. For those with family, friends, or loved ones living in or connected to Israel and the region, our thoughts are with you. We wish for peace for all people.'
